Yeah I heard you get your gear but have to regem/enchant it all again and shit. My characters are particularly well geared or anything but I'd still be fucking pissed off to lose them.

Shit like that scares me half to death. I'd be upset about my account being hacked but suicidal if they got my bank details from the payments (not that I ever have much money in it anyway). Might start using a pre-paid game card

If you use Windows; really you need to be proactive and install every da,n tool you can.
Firefox, noscript, spybot, search & destroy, a firewall, antivirus, etc. There are stickied threads on eu support forum with good detail, and loads on google.

If you have a Mac, you're safe (good thread on it here http://maintankadin.failsafedesign.com/ ... 571#181571).

After the recent unfortunate incident with Lucy getting hacked, can I ask ALL our members to review your PC security. As a minimum, you should have some sort of personal/software firewall, an up-to-date AV package, and something like SpyBot installed.

Oh, and go and look at 'dodgy' sites on another computer if you have to! ;)

i have to say that i actually got one of the token authenticators for my account. I know that some people say that it is just blizzard after more money, but from a security point of view it will not matter if they get username and password they won't be able to access account withouth the authenticator. they must be running on small nuclear power sources because my mum has had hers for ages and the battery power is fine.
